Once we have done the physical standby configuration has been completed, we need to configure data guard broker

oracle@prime ~]$ export ORACLE_SID=PROD
[oracle@prime ~]$ dgmgrl /

DGMGRL> connect sys/oracle@PROD

DGMGRL> show configuration;
ORA-16532: Data Guard broker configuration does not exist

Configuration details cannot be determined by DGMGRL

In our case, we would never configure DB on dg broker so we got an above error

syntax:

DGMGRL> create configuration "Broker Name " as primary database is 'identifier name ' connect identifier is 'identifier name';

in our primary DB:

DGMGRL> create configuration "DG_BROKER" as primary database is 'PROD' connect identifier is 'PROD';

Configuration "DG_BROKER" created with primary database "PROD".

s-3:

to check our configured DB status

DGMGRL> show configuration 
Configuration -DG_BROKER

Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
Databases:
PROD - Primary database

Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED

Configuration Status:
DISABLED

s-4:

Need to add our standby database

syntax:

dgmgrl>add database 'identifier name ' as connect identifier is 'identifier name';

in our standby DB:

dgmgrl > add database 'PRODSTB' as connect identifier is 'PRODSTB';

Database "PRODSTB" added

s-5:

check the configuration status

DGMGRL> show configuration;

Configuration - DG_BROKER

Protection Mode: MaxPerformance

Databases:

PROD - Primary database
PRODSTB - Physical standby database

Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED
Configuration Status:
DISABLED

once you configured we need to enable it

DGMGRL> enable configuration;

check the configuration status

PRODSTB - Primary database
PROD - Physical standby database
